INDIANAPOLIS SOFTWARE STARTUP POISED TO GROW EXPONENTIALLY

Property tax software company is preparing for growth with capital investments and additional staff

Indianapolis, IN – AppealTrack software is currently being used to manage over $40 billion in assets; that number is anticipated to grow exponentially over the next few years. Recent adoption of the product by three of the top 25 accounting firms in the nation has helped the company gain recognition and traction within the industry. The company has committed to additional capital investments and has begun the process of bringing on new staff.

Company founder, Doug Collins, comments “We’ve been well received by the market and are planning for continued significant growth as a result. Providing our customers with tools that make them more efficient and strategic will continue to be our focus. We’re thankful for the support of the state and look forward to adding more talented folks to the team.” Kristin Seed was just hired this month as a full-time client success implementation and support manager. AppealTrack anticipates hiring seven more individuals, more than doubling the size of the Indianapolis-based team by 2016.

“With the dramatic growth of Indiana’s technology industry, our state is enjoying the rise of new software firms like AppealTrack,” said Eric Doden, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “By building a business climate conducive to reaching growth goals, companies achieve a competitive advantage with lower operating costs in the Hoosier State. We’re excited to see this high-growth industry expand in Indiana, a state that works for innovation and what’s next.”

Josh Colter, who heads up sales and marketing for AppealTrack, is confident in the projected growth of the company “AppealTrack has been able to grow so naturally because our product has been crafted around the actual voiced needs of our clients. New features are validated before they are created, not after they are unveiled. This responsiveness to the market combined with outstanding client service is establishing AppealTrack as the industry standard for tax appeal software.”

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered AppealTrack conditional tax credits and training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives.

Professional tax software is a multi-billion dollar industry. There are thousands of large and mid-sized law, accounting and consulting firms across the nation that AppealTrack could service. According to Census.gov, the 2007 Economic Census reported there are more than fifty seven thousand offices of certified public accountants in the United States.
